If Alexei Medvedev reactivates their account, you’ll still be friends.
When I saw a “person missing” announcement in my Facebook feed, I somehow didn’t quite understand… “What’s going on? How so?”
The usual, the so commonly trivial was going on — the death of an interesting person who did so much for Russian culture.
Yes, sometimes, with strange views on “interesting cases of intertextuality”, “entertaining semiotics” and “alternative explanation of Benford’s law”. But that’s exactly what made Alexei interesting, original and authentic! And my personal discussions with him, and what Medvedev did for the public.
And again. Deactivated. No more “2morrow”, “Mirror”, “Message to Man” film festivals he curated. Nor the online debates for the sake of truth and renewal / replenishment of ideas. Virtual or in Cannes.
And “the relatives were informed a month after the death.” Well, something somewhere bugged in some governmental database. Found but not reported. “Does it matter?”
