“I’m a consumer, what’s wrong with that?” — is the phrase that continues to baffle me. “I’m just like any other animal on the planet, I breathe, drink, eat, maybe produce other animals that will breathe, drink and eat, what’s wrong with that?”
The way you consume? The quantity? The fact that luck gave you an opportunity to not be an animal, to use that neocortex to create a better world, maybe? 🤔
Wine, gaming, shopping, travel, Netflix, restaurants and pets. Sounds like Tinder / Hinge / Instagram hashtags?
Once dead, what will be left from such a person on the planet? More CO₂, plastics, selfies, out-of-fashion clothing? A medal for the murder of the nameless but similar consumers? For their piece of land to drink, shop and dine? Ever had to go through the personal belongings and photos of a deceased friend or relative?
No wonder, AGI might consider humans to be as disposable as their prevalent behaviors. 😕
